Florida Raised

My name is Kate Smith and I grew up raising animals with my folks, on our small family farm in the heart of Florida.

I discovered my passion for dog training after I spent roughly ten years working with horses and riders in the beautiful equestrian hub of Ocala, Florida.

Fun fact: Horses are actually more color blind than dogs and that is why you see many dog toys displaying yellow and blue colors because those are the shades they can see the most clearly.

It’s small details like these that are of great importance when I coach owners and their dogs how to acclimate to city living here in South Florida.

my VISION FOR YOU

To help you discover your own rhythm and set of protocols at home, on walks and during outings with your dog.

Think of me as your personal guide to transforming chaos into calm and frustration into fun challenges for your dog to be able to master the basics and relax inside and outside.

As a client, I will coach you remotely and in person to help answer your questions, fill in the blanks and assist you in practicing new skills.

My mission, is to be authentic in every aspect of my life and when we train together.

Every household and neighborhood is unique and therefore my teaching approach will be equally as unique. I believe the protocols we decide to implement together, should reflect that.

Once I connect with your dog and you, I will be able to articulate the process of how to meet and maintain the vision you have for them and all the different avenues we can take together.

seeing is believing

My training philosophy is simply to empower owners by allowing them to have more control over what methods and training style we use.

I allow you to choose between various techniques and options with raising your puppies rehabbing fosters and teaching recently adopted dogs.

education goes both ways

For the last 8 years, I have been studying under behaviorists, ethologists and specialty trainers to better help others teach, manage and rehabilitate dogs.

I love explaining how your dog’s brain works, why and when they make the decisions they do and how to achieve a loyal relationship in public and at home.

More importantly, I teach you within minutes how dogs can learn from so much more than just following treats from your hands.

My newest passion is competing in dog sports and teaching high level obedience and fluid movements.

I thoroughly enjoy helping dogs process and acclimate to city living with you.

I’m a big believer in continuing education and reading up on the latest literature and am fortunate to study under Brett Bailey, the mastermind behind Whosagoodboyindustries and the very skilled and talented, Nino Drowaert, of STSK9 in Belgium.

Currently, I am subscribed to two different online platforms for trainers who can showcase their work, have open discussions and consult on complex cases.

It is challenging, always exciting, and keeps me sharp so I can bring my best.

I enjoy collecting funkos, photography, going to the springs, national parks and playing in an amateur pool league for 8 ball and 9 ball.

My dogs names are Harley, Kang and Coco.

Coco is my youngest and my newest pack addition, who is deaf and partially blind. I adopted him at the end of 2024 from Milo’s Dog Rescue. He is a MDAS Survivor.

Harley was found by a group of staff in front of some offices in Pompano Beach. It was at the beginning of COVID lockdowns and I picked her up that same day after reading about her from a social media post. She has been with me ever since.

Kang is my imported German Shepherd from Czech Republica and he is a year and a half old. We are currently mastering the ins and outs of competitive dog sports and trialing together.
